Community Challenge ​​

AARP has awarded HDC a grant to help older adults (50+) stay safe at home.​

​Who may qualify?​

• You OR someone in your household is age 50+

• Own your home

• Reside within Rock Hill City Limits

• Household meets Area Median Income (AMI) requirements

Items provided at no cost to eligible households

• Grab Bars - Installed where appropriate to help prevent slips/falls

• Transition Mats - Placed at thresholds/entries to smooth transitions

• Wireless Hallway Lights - Battery operated lights for better nighttime visibility

• Exterior Stair Handrails - Installed at exterior stairs to prevent slips/falls​​​​​​

How do I apply? ​

Apply online today! Eligibility may be determined based on being age 50 or older, meeting HUD Area Median Income (AMI) guidelines, residing within Rock Hill city limits as your primary residence, and other program requirements. Assistance is subject to available funding and supplies, and submitting an application does not guarantee approval or receipt of items/services.
