

RENT Assistance for Moving out of a Hotel or Motel Stay
The Housing Development Corporation of Rock Hill provides financial assistance to help individuals and families transition from a hotel or motel to permanent housing. This program covers eligible move-in costs, including the first month’s rent, security deposit, and lease-required move-in fees. Funding is limited. If you are eligible, apply as soon as possible.
Eligibility Requirements:

You must currently reside in a hotel, motel, or extended stay within Rock Hill city limits.

You must have a Welcome Letter from a landlord within Rock Hill city limits.

Your prospective landlord must be willing to accept third-party payment.

Your household must be making less than or equal to 80% AMI:

When you fill out the pre-screening application below, you will be required to submit the following:

A receipt of payment for the most recent hotel/motel or extended stay

A welcome letter from a landlord in Rock Hill city limits
If your pre-application is accepted, you will be required to submit additional documents:

Picture ID for all household members 18+

1 month of income documentation for all household members 18+ (paystubs, SSDI, SSI, pension, etc.)

2 months of bank statements for all household members 18+ (checking and savings)
